3 Reasons You don’t want to fly from Los Angeles to Las Vegas
There are many reasons why you might not want to fly from Los Angeles’ LAX to Las Vegas. Here are 3 reasons.
Flying from LAX is a Hassle
It’s been recently reported that just to get though LAX while standing in line can take up to 2 hours or more. On top of that, the time to board the plane and eventually take off may add another hour to your travel time. Now, add the flight time between LAX and Las Vegas of approximately 1 hr and 10 minutes. This means you may end up spending up to 4 hours by the time you hit the tarmac of Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
And that does not even include the time it takes to drive from your home in L.A. to LAX, the time it takes to pick up your luggage at baggage claim as well as catching a ride from the airport in Las Vegas to your hotel. This could easily add an additional 1 hour to your total travel time. When all is said and done, taking a plane from LAX to Las Vegas could take a total of 5 hours or more from the time you leave your home in Los Angeles to the time you arrive at your hotel in Las Vegas. Driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas takes roughly 4 hours.
Don’t Like to Fly
Some people simply don’t like to fly for a variety of reasons. These reasons could include fear of flying/heights (cruising altitude could be over 30,000 feet); not wanting to be in a crowded airplane; not wanting to be disturbed by noisy or disruptive passengers (babies crying, intoxicated passengers, etc.); uncomfortable seats with lack of legroom (particularly in coach) to name only a few.
Driving is More Eco Friendly Than Flying
For short distances of under 500 miles (Los Angeles to Las Vegas is approximately 266 miles), driving is generally considered to be better than flying when it comes to reducing your carbon footprint.
