Non Permitted Airport Shuttle Services
Non Permitted Airport Shuttle Services
Why You Shouldn’t Use Their Services
- Airport shuttle services not authorized to operate, do so without proper background checks on their drivers!
- Vehicles do not have commercial insurance! God forbid something happens, the accident won’t be covered!
- They don’t have the proper permits! Such as an Active TCP(Transportation Charter Permit) a requirement to be legal in the State Of California!
- No airport permits! A Requirement at the airports!
What To Ask The Company
Is their TCP Active? Per the California Public Utilities Commission, TCP numbers should be on all business correspondence, including the company website! On the vehicles TCP numbers should be on the front right bumper, and the left rear bumper of the vehicle! Does the company have valid airport permits? In order to have an LAX(Los Angeles International Airport) permit, a company must have “A” Rated commercial liability insurance! Santa Ana John Wayne and Ontario International airport require permits to do business at their airports! Without a valid permit, vehicles will be cited, impounded and towed!
Secure Payment System
Non authorized private car services may lack a secure payment system! This means your financial information could be at risk! When processing credit cards, the business payment system must be PCI(Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Compliant! If the business is not in compliance then your financial information is most definitely in jeopardy!
Accountability and Transparency
Is the company being transparent with you? If the price being charged is too cheap, where’s their overhead? How are they doing business at such a cheap price, especially driving long distances in traffic? We had a potential customer call and tell us that a company was going to charge him $180 for 5 people and 12 pieces of luggage for a Private SUV! Pick up in Rialto California to LAX, 75 miles each way with gas as high as it is! Is the company commercially insured? Do they have the proper State permits? How about Valid airport permits? LAX charges $5 every time a company picks up, and $150 a year for the permit! Ontario International airport charges $3 to enter and $3 to pick up, same with John Wayne airport!
Compliance with Local Regulations
Non permitted private car services operate outside of California regulations! In order to get a TCP, there are protocols and requirements! The company must have Articles of Incorporation! A Statement Of Information! Fictious Business Name Permit! Local business license and tax permit of the city that they reside in! “A” Rated Commercial Liability! In Los Angeles a Business Tax Permit!
Conclusion
Make sure that the company that you choose to transport you and your family is permitted! That they have all local, State and Federal operating permits! Make sure that they have valid airport permits to do business at the airports! Airport police will impound vehicles without a proper airport permit!
